This is a name to be reckoned with and should not be used lightly. Naming a character the Latin summation of “worthy of love” does not give you permission to make her slutty because worthy of love doesn’t mean we love everyone but that we earn the love of others. We worked for it and it is our right to be recognized for our achievements. Once you have earned our love, it is yours for life unless you decide to spurn our loyalty to suit your own pleasures. Then you are nothing. This is something I feel the media tends to ignore entirely when dealing with this name. For example: Addams Family Values. The snotty girl at the camp was a blonde, beautiful, popular girl named Amanda. She does not deserve this name. We are not always social butterflies. Sometimes we are but moths hiding in the shadows waiting for a beacon to draw us in and we will worship that beacon until it burns us. We are side-characters in our own lives, supporting those who have earned our love and helping them when we can. And we are weird as fuck. We make our own rules and we run out the front door rather than up the stairs. We inspire people to be who they are, valuing truth rather than appearances, embracing the weird, and going with the flow. We are shape shifters, able to adapt and allow others to gradually become exposed to the awesome of our power, but mostly we are the best friends you will ever have should you find yourself worthy of our love. THAT is what a real Amanda is. So stop making us the slutty bimbo!!!
I have been having an argument with a friend and he says that Marvel is for guys, please help me prove to him that there are lots of women who like Marvel!

The thing about helping someone out is that they need to actively participate in the activity themselves. Otherwise you are no longer helping and are solely just doing it for them. I wish people would learn the difference and quit taking advantage of the kindness in those who wish to offer assistance and get jaded by those who wish to sucker them into doing everything. This is why I’m sick of “helping” people who ask for help.
